This project began with the construction of the perimeter walls to construct the shell of this large in vessel green waste composting facility. The reinforced concrete walls were constructed to a height of 6.5m to act as push walls. Our team of twelve fitted all reinforced steel to the toes and walls then fixed the large formations before pouring the concrete to give a high standard fair faced finish. Upon completion of phase 1, our next project was to clad the exterior to the main building, visitor centre and control room in 3,500 square metres of home grown cedar cladding. The superb look to this industrial unit is plain to see. The final works were to erect internal partitions to the main compost area to segregate the zones to comply with new animal by product laws. The batten structure was fixed to internal steels before being faced with a specialist board to resist the aggressive atmosphere. |
