Plywood Available in both softwood and hardwood. Plywood is comprised of thin layers of veneers (plies) that are bonded together in such a way that the veneers run at right angles to each other. The amount of veneers relates to the strength of the plywood. Depending on the use we can advise which is most suitable. All our sheet material is WBP (weather and boil proof); this helps it withstand weather changes, micro-organisms and wet and dry heat. We stock the following plywood: - Far Eastern: This is a WBP plywood with a hardwood surface.
- Elliottis: This is a concrete shuttering plywood.
- Sterling: A large chipped building board, mainly used for flat roofs, sheds and as partition boards.
- Wisa: Suitable for flat roofs and construction. It is a spruce plywood and is the only sheet material we stock tanalised for external uses.
- Marine ply: Used for boatbuilding as it’s adaptable for damp conditions.
- Caber: This is a chipboard equivalent, comes tongued and grooved and is mainly used for loft flooring (P5).
