Environmental Policy
WH Bond operates in diverse areas of business from less intensive agriculture to timber sales. We recognise that all of our activities can have a high impact on the environment both positive and negative. As a company we strive to ensure that our activities contribute positively to our natural environment and where this is not achievable are as environmentally benign as possible. The company is also aware that environmental gain is a contentious issue and will therefore research developments and procedures carefully.

The company aims to prevent pollution and comply with all environmental legislation and monitor processes to ensure that our systems of operation are environmentally safe and completed works are of maximum environmental gain.

We are proud of our environmental track record and aim to improve it. Examples of environmental improvements made by our company over the last ten years:

  • Planting of over 35 acres of hardwood trees on our farmland
  • Creation of over 20 acres of aquatic habitat
  • Hosting of one of two LIFE (less intensive farming and the environment) pioneer farms along with Long Ashton Research Centre
  • Recycling maximum amounts of wastes particularly green waste enabling a considerable improvement in Cornwall’s recycling rate and reducing the amount of off-farm inputs required

We aim to continue and improve our environmental awareness by continuing to make all members of the company aware of how their actions can affect the environment through on site education and training. This policy will be regularly updated and the opportunity to achieve formal accreditation for environmental performance will be investigated.
